Forests in the Northeast have been logged, high-graded, abandoned, and re-logged for more than two centuries, and most of what's standing today reflects the last cutting decision more than any long-term plan. We work with landowners who want to change that: sound silviculture, honest timber inventory, healthy soil, and a stand that improves in value and structure every decade.

Timber, Soil, & Wetlands Management
We handle forestry planning, timber stand improvement, wetlands stewardship, and soil health work, and we coordinate with licensed foresters, hydrologists, and engineers when necessary. The goal is a property that improves every decade, not one that gets liquidated once and then walked away from.

Timber Appraisal
Timber cruises and written appraisals for estate planning, tax purposes, current-use enrollment, conservation easement donations, and property sales. USPAP-compliant appraisal work flows through licensed appraisers where the intended use requires it (IRS charitable donation, litigation, formal estate). For informal planning, we can deliver a defensible valuation without the higher cost.

Firewood Production & Assistance
Best paired with any timber harvest so the tops and low-grade material go to firewood instead of chip. We can arrange to process your own logs into split, seasoned cordwood on your property, or deliver green or seasoned hardwood from our own network of operations.

Forest Carbon Credits
Well-managed forestland can generate meaningful annual income through carbon credit programs like the Family Forest Carbon Program, NCX, and Finite Carbon. We assess whether your property qualifies, walk you through the program tradeoffs (contract length, allowable harvest, income potential), and coordinate enrollment. Most of these programs pay landowners for practices we'd already recommend as good forestry, so the income comes without a change in management philosophy.
